No peeking but I finally got a page up thats says I am working on it!
I been working on that for about a hour or so. Had to create the page of course but the fact I got it showing makes me very happy! I had not done that before, really start something! I said I would be getting a new site up and running and it looks like its even closer than before!
Have a great whatever, I got a website to up date with a new article that I still can't decide on its name. How bad is that?

Been reading up on things again

I found that I didn't offer all that I could in my article Nailed! The Truth Behind Discount Nail Salons and what I find out really does need to be added somehow.
I did find out that the new line of nail polish I offer Slimline doesn't have DBP which I been looking into. Its seems that it can cause birth defects in boys only. Not nice stuff if you ask me.

I got my new samples today for my mineral makeup line I am going to be offering. Trying to think of a good name for it. Its amazing stuff thats for sure... Pretty colors I can't wait to open and take pictures of it! I got a few ideas going now..I am going to have a arts and crafts site soon, mineral makeup and I got told I am nuts for doing this, a wedding site! Ok maybe not but I think that there is always room for all ideas. I don't have domain names picked out yet. But I know for sure that Overallbeauty will be part of the name for the mineral makeup.
Its late and I got shopping I need to do tomorrow..so off to bed I go and go do what ever you should be doing too..

There are discount nail salons on just about every corner these days and a great deal of competition within the industry. Salons that are higher in price are now going out of their way to specialize in different, branded systems that are inventive in the different ways they offer you to take care of your nails.

With Nail Salons on every corner, how do you pick the right one for you? There are many different types of Nail Salons, from your basic services to full out Retreats for weekends in the bed of luxury. How can you tell which one is right for what you want done?

You might enjoy paying less to have your fills done, but the cost of the product used to do that fill is still the same. All nail salons use the same kinds of products to work on your nails, so there really won’t be much difference in the type of products found in any salon you might visit. However, there ARE different brands available for each product type. If the nail salon you are going to uses a name brand product such as O.P.I, China Gaze, Creativespa, LECHAT Color Gel, Solar Oil, even at wholesale prices, the products cost about the same at either high end or low end Salons, so what extra value are you getting if you visit a more expensive nail salon?

What you are getting at a higher cost Salon are typically better services, benefits and in some cases, more personal care and attention. One of those benefits may be cleaner air. Indoor air pollution from the chemicals in nail products can be one of the biggest problems for those who have breathing problems, but still want to get their nails done. If you are getting your nails done at a higher end salon, there is a good chance that they have an air filter or fans or other air cleaners to stop the smell of acrylics from burning your nose or eyes when you walk in the door.

Many additional services are being offered at higher end Salons, other than just your basic acrylic overlays with tips, and simple manicures and pedicures. When we asked clients about the best Salons they had patronized, they said there were differences in what the place looked like, but even when it wasn’t called a Day Spa it was just a step down from it. Here is a common list of services offered by higher end nail salons.

· Spa-level Manicures,

· Spa-level Pedicures,

· Natural Nail Care,

· Silk/Cotton/Linen Nail Wraps,

· Nail Art beyond simple one color flowers,

· Full Sets,

· Gel Overlays,

· Massage Legs, Arms, Hands

· Organic and Botanical products for Pedicures,

· Reflexology.

The whole atmosphere is different at a higher end nail salon. There is no rushing to get your nails done, with your cuticles being roughed up because technicians are filing quickly because they must do many more manicures a day to make a living wage.

Each nail technician in a higher-end salon should be dressed for success or wear a smock with the nail salon’s name on it. They are typically not gossiping among themselves about other clients and not speaking to each other in languages other than English. Salon clients consulted in the preparation of this article made a very strong recommendation that one language should be spoken when there are clients in the room and technicians should wear little or no jewelry.

All these different services are going to cost more and there is no way around that fact. For those who don’t need more than just a fill every two weeks, these benefits may mean nothing, but for those who want more, it’s going to cost more.

After asking different salon owners and those who get manicures and pedicures done regularly, all say one word: “ Sanitation.” The biggest difference between higher priced and discount Nail Salons is the level of cleanliness of the whole Salon, including the equipment and technicians. This should be the most basic criteria of choice.

Based on that, if you can’t decide whether you want to go to a discount nail salon or one that is higher priced, then here are a few additional ideas to might help you decide.

When you walk into a nail salon, either discount or higher in price, stop and look around. Are the floors dirty or does the carpet have big stains on it? What do the nail technicians look like? Do they look unkempt or have nails of their own that look like they need work? Are their stations disorganized and untidy? If this is what you are seeing, then the best thing you could do is just turn and walk away.

A health inspector we interviewed said that when she visited a particular nail salon, her first impression was that it looked clean, and the prices was reasonable. Then she began her close examination. What she saw was down right scary for the salon’s customers. The whirlpool for pedicures wasn’t properly disinfected between each use, and the foot baths provided the perfect environment for the growth of dangerous bacteria. When tested, the bacteria growing in the footbaths could have caused someone a major skin infection. Unfortunately, official inspectors regularly inspecting Salon premises are not as common as it once was. If the possibility of infection is something you are worried about, then a higher end nail salon would be a better choice because they can afford to take better care of their equipment and are typically more conscious of the welfare of their clients.

Today you can buy your own simple equipment for your nail technician to use on your nails and no one else’s. Many technicians use nail files that are single use. You can ask for them if that is something you would rather have used on your nails.

Nail technicians are there to give a service. If they do a great job, please don’t to forget to tip them - they have to eat too.

If you are not sure which Salon to patronize, ask your friends or family or work colleagues for recommendations about where they go to get their nails done. If you see someone with nails that you admire, don’t hesitate to ask them for a recommendation to their favorite Salon. Go with your friends and see their favorite salons for yourself, before having any work on done on your own nails.

Which Salon you choose should be based on many if not most of the ideas we have mentioned above, and on your income, where you live, and what you want done. Only you can decide what you are willing to pay to have the luxury of getting your nails and toes done.

No I am not going to tell you what has been going on cause well put it this way, my mouth would be needing to be washed out if I said how I feel.

Well 2005 is now gone. Thats its all she wrote! If you were to look back on the year, how would
you feel? Did you do all that you wanted to do? Go all the places you wanted to go? Make more money than the year before? Wait I have to answer that one. Yea I did, could I of made more than I did? I don't know can you say that? How more honest can I be? 2005 had its up and downs and even a few sideways things going on, but it was still a pretty good year.
I did it I got over 3000 visitors to Overallbeauty.com, way to go there, now have 13 articles and 2 poems wrote, not good but not all that bad either, got a second site started and thats right started. Make new friends online and offline as well. Got a new car, Baby my 2004 blue ION way to go there!, still there were a few things I wanted to do that I didn't get to do.
Didn't go on a real vacation, plan on changing that this year, Mom my husband's mom passed away, little hard to talk about that, had a son leave for the ARMY and come home not a member of the armed forces, got his mother's asthma. WOOT! He left again with one girl friend and came home with a new one, still have that one and everything is doing fine with them. My oldest has a job that is now full time and he is shift leader, way to go Derek! Not bad Not bad indeed. Wish they both would go back to school but I can't have everything.
Ok thats just about it now what are your plans for 2006 that you are going to at least try and follow through on? For me:
1- Finish my second site GiftsandBeauty.com so look for a grand opening there
2- Write more articles and see if I can at least double Decembers traffic without spending more
money than what is needed.
3- This is my biggest one not be so quick tempered, learn to give more and ask for less, take time out for the family more.
4- See if I can at least get $1000. more in profit in one month just one month! Not asking too much you think? That would put me closer to my major goal of making more money than my husband does in one year and its not profit I want it to be his pay before they take anything out.
Side Note: Did you know that if you take the time to write down and share about your goals you have planned that its more ought going to happen than if you just kept it to yourself? Interesting but oh so very true. I don't remember where it was that I hear that but I really feel its the truth.
5- Open up more streams of money making ideas. I already have one of those started and I so want to share it but I don't want to be jinked so keep a eye out for it!
6- Write more articles oh I said that already huh? Ok write more poetry! Where that is something that I been doing for as long as I can remember. I have a new one that I wrote that I think I might share.
Sit down and really think, what are your goals for the coming year? Want to share then? And its within my field then just leave me a comment and I will know what is on your mind.

It's a very sad time in my home today, on Thrusday my mother in law passed away of cancer. They gave her 6 months to live back in Sept. and she didn't make it the whole 6 months. I am not sure how to feel right now, my husband says he is glad she is gone because it ended her pain. She got to die at home and that was better than the hosptial but still why now? She was finally made peace with her ex-husband who ended up being her caregiver at the end. They were together for 30 years. He made a major mistake but was forgiven by her it was really hard to forgive and forget but she forgave him and that was all that really mattered.
Being Jewish they believe 3 days to being into ground but where she lives that was a impossiblly so she will be laid to rest on Wednesday. Nothing fancy just a pine box, she been telling us for years how she wanted to be buried.

Help me do whats right

I lost a drop shipper today, well it won't be till January but still, what makes her think I will have a customer that wants fifty dollars of her stuff right away? What if they only want one item? What do I say opps you got to buy fifty dollars worth from her or don't bother?
I know its not that hard to find a new one and I know she just wants to make money as much as the rest of us but still...
AT least I know of a different company that will be taking her place.
I am not mad I am just disappointed but she is just a small company trying to cover what she does.

Today is the day!

22 years ago I got married in Henderson to a Air Force man. It is surprising at times that we
are still together but there are things one must do to stay married.
When we decided to get married we laid down a few rules that to this day have never been broked.
1- You don't hit me <--me being the writing this blog. Why you might ask? Because I was someone hitting post growing up and I refuse to marry someone who was going to do it.
1a- if there are children there is no using them for hitting post because you can't hit me.
Both rules NEVER BROKEN!
2- You don't cheat <-- because I have a family member who does and has and I have seen what it does to one's family.
2a- I don't cheat either.
Both rules here NEVER BROKEN!
Can you say that you have made promises that have never been broken? Till I met my husband I could not say that. How sad is that? Then I met this amazing man who after less than a month ask me to marry him. I said yes. He gave me roses and wrote a poem about why each color was important to him and his love for me.
Years later when I called from Lowe's asking him if he minded a pick up a couple of roses for our front yard. I was told to get one of each color he wrote about in his poem. These roses are the brightest ones in my yard! Cheap no brand name roses are growing beautiful in my front reminding me each day of his love.
Yes I married a very romantic man! He hides it well!
I am so glad that for no reason what so ever there has been no need to break either rule. Being married is hard and sure there have been times we have wanted to call it quits but we worked it out.
Happy Anniversary Mike! I Love You and looking forward to another 22 years!!

Today I did Work How about you?

I had got to the Nail Pro Show and had so much fun, I been talking about it ever since. Well today now that I am feeling better, I called one of the people who was there to talk about maybe working today.
Got a new wholesaler, well we hope anyway. There is this really neat nail polish company that I didn't know has been around for 40 years and I met the guy who the nail polish is named after. I really need different things to offer besides mood polish. I think there should be more choices and with Christmas coming, well what ever it takes right? Well these guys sell essential fragrance Cuticle Oil, I had got one free in my goody bag from the Nail Pro Show. I got one that smells like Mango and I really like it! Hopefully I will be able to offer the wonderful smelling great for your nails cuticle oil real soon so you all be watching for ok?

What are you reading today?

Now step back and look at what you are reading today. Not what you read online, no blogs no web sites or articles, really step back and think, what real live books are you reading? I went to the library again last week, mygod the ladies all working there know me!! I have a total of 24 books I have checked out and I think over the last 2 weeks I have checked over 150 different books on a few ideas I am working on. I have the books about beauty products (thats for article writing), books on e-commerce (for the site), books on advertising (again the site) even a few on eBay. I am looking at so many books that half mine and half the libraries. There is a this one book and I get a kick out of just the name. Its called Don't Think Pink about marketing to woman. Now the every first thing I have wrong if going by this book that my site is pink. Opps bad Kim but the rest I am good at. The whole idea behind the book is how men see marketing to women is and how they do it and just how wrong men are!
Now what I mean by that is not all women are home makers anymore, money is just way too tight or there is no one else bring in the money so women need to work. The idea is there is a need to market to those women without insulting their intellect. Now ladies have we not all seen the ads that do just that? Now I work on the computer thats my job, I am at home and I work on the computer and I have seen ads that are so looking down on the fact that I don't work outside the home. Now I have also read that more and more home businesses are created by, you guess it, women who have decided to stay at home raise their kids and still bring in money. Bravo ladies Bravo!
Now a few of the books I am reading have to do with that subject. One book is called Mompreneurs on using the internet to build a home based business. At the end of this I will put all the names of the books I am talking about and who they are by incase you want to read them. I have another one about small business sourcebook. I haven't had time to look it over yet but I got it cause its has information about small business. Do I have any books not having to do with my site, my job me..I count myself as one of the women a lot of advertising is created for marketing. The reason I am reading all these books is a good reason I guess. I started a business and didn't do all the research on marketing, advertising, writing articles etc so I am playing catch up. I don't mind cause I am a very fast reader Thanks Mom! and I can read most of the books I have and have them back before the end of this week and then start looking for more. I have this major thirst for knowledge and I have found that now as I am older it doesn't bother me to read, take notes, find books mostly do all those things that when I was in High School I was too busy trying to get out of. Now a lot of home businesses the women do all this before they even take a business so that no mistakes are made and no money lost.
The problem I have is I am still working on the true niche business that will make me money I just want to do so many things but money is the one thing holding me back so I read. By reading I am finding ways to get things done with little money or none depending and thats good. I have three site ideas I want to do. The one I have done Overallbeauty.com the second one I am working on Giftsandbeauty.com and I want to setup one of eBay. Not asking to do much am I? The work is all me thats why Iam trying to find the best way to do it and for me the best place to find out information is in a book.

Branding My Name

One of more important things to do when being someone who sells items online whether it be information or products is branding your name and web site. To find out if your name is getting out there is to look for as a keyword in say Google or Yahoo. So I googled my name.

If you ever want to find out whats out there with your name in just Google your name.
It seems that there is a Kim Snyder who sings Christian music, voice over in Hollywood,Special Events Assistant, writer and painter, gee I sure that was me but as a web site owner I come up on page 2 at the top one and two only for the reviews I did at Amazon.com when you get to page three there I am as Web Site Owner.
IF you are thinking I am whining about the fact for real I am not because 4 months ago I couldn't find me at all! So this means that I am getting out there under my name. But this also tells me that I can't really use my name yet because I haven't online as a site owner long enough or should I? There is 1,960,000 , I am thinking I am more but in not that much in the top 3 pages that everyone looks at most. Should I push me as me? Or keep going at it as Overallbeauty? If you were in my place what would you do? Have you Googled your name lately?
There are women when they meet someone either offline or at some matching making site, my single mother does this, they google the name of the person just to see. It there is bad news about someone it will run wild on the web, in fact bad new of any type runs fast on the web its just a shame that good news doesn't go as far that fast. Its just one of the ways women who chat with or gets dates is by googling that person's name. Do you? Its one of the ways to try to find out if that person is safe enough to meet. Its hard dating as it is or so I am been told. I can give you the secret to how to stay married but dating Nope I ask mother. My mother been single a long time and dates and finds alot of them on the web cause she does long distance eduction.
Anyway, why not google your name and see what comes up, its just another way to find out about yourself. Do you know you? hahaha
